In 1997 the five young blokes in Nepenth went into Aabenraa Studio in the Southern part of Denmark with renowned producer Jacob Hansen (Volbeat, The Black Dahlia Murder, Evergrey, Mustasch, Heaven Shall Burn, Dizzy Mizz Lizzy…). The aim was to record a crushing minialbum that would help them conquer the world. That sadly didn’t happen as the band disbanded shortly after and the music was shelved… until now.
25 years later, it’s more than time to set things straight. This material has been begging again and again for a release and Accelerator Records just had to dig up the master tapes for a proper vinyl treatment. The result is ‘Blood & Ice’.
Andreas Linnemann (Bæst’s producer) did a splendid job making a new vinyl master and the six killer tracks have never sounded better.
The style is melodic death metal in the veins of the 90s Gothenburg scene (In Flames, At The gates, Dark Tranquility…). and the stunning artwork is based on a photograph by guitarist Gordon Thaysen.
‘Blood & Ice’ comes on 180gr vinyl in two versions (black or clear/smoke) in 100 copies each.
